How to organize your 2 Weeks Argentina Itinerary
What can you do having two weeks in Argentina?
Let’s start from the top: any planning stage starts with a presentation email or phone conversation. This help us understand the way you like to travel and the places you saw online, and you don’t want to miss.
It’s very important to remark that Argentina is an enormous country, and unfortunately, there’s no train option, and well… the bus is not really the best choice, considering the long distances. But lucky for us, there are many flight connections that help travelers go from one destination to another in a short time, considering Argentina is one of the ten largest countries in the world!
So, knowing this, it’s quite essential to decide which destination should you visit according to the season you’re traveling. Our high season for Patagonia goes from November through late March, some areas of the country can be visited all year long, as Iguazu Falls, and others are better during mid-season, as Mendoza or our Northwest.
Which destinations should you choose?
If you’re active and you’re planning on experience some hiking, then you cannot miss Patagonia, with is breathtaking views, wildlife and trekking trails. From the very south, Ushuaia, to the north of the region, in Bariloche, Patagonia is full of small picturesque towns and endless National Parks to visit. If you’re an experienced trekker, then El Chalten will blow your mind.
For those seeking a more relaxing trip, surrounded by nature, enjoying the good Argentinean food, there are two must destinations: Iguazu Falls and Mendoza.
If you’re interested in our local culture and you like to photograph great landscapes, you cannot miss including Salta and Jujuy in your itinerary. These two provinces are located in the northwest of the country and are pretty much a hidden place, with a similar scenery to the Peruvian, Bolivian and Chilean desert areas.
Should you visit Buenos Aires?
Considering Buenos Aires is the largest, most populated city in the country and also the starting point of any journey within Argentina, yes, it’s necessary to stay at least two nights in Buenos Aires (one on your arrival day, and another at the end of your trip).
Many travelers tend to stay some extra nights to get to know in deep the life of locals, and the different neighborhoods the city has: from Palermo with is charming gardens and nightlife, to Recoleta with its classic buildings and museums.
The truth is Buenos Aires is like any other capital in the world. It has its own unique attractions, thematic tours, and a vast option of restaurants to try local food accompanied by a great wine.
